Coming this Spring 2021!
Join this 4 week supportive group!
Anticipating spring in full bloom has never felt so glorious as it does this year! And to mark this time of renewal, now that we are permitted to have small social gatherings outdoors, the horses and I are offering a lovely group in May for moms who have selflessly dedicated their efforts in navigating social distancing during covid, with the extra challenge of caregiving for a child with special needs. Accessing our usual coping strategies and resources might not have been possible, and perhaps a little help can go a long way now.
Spring is the perfect opportunity for us to take the time to consciously recharge our souls, and fill our cups with a bit of sunshine, support, friendship, (and horsey love).
On top of offering moms a platform to share their journey, in this group, I will be introducing for the very first time, my unique centering technique which I have called Equigrounding, with my 3 colleagues the healing horses. We will be exploring a variety of cathartic and creative outlets to reconnect to our sense of self, and shed accumulated stress.
Dr. Brene Brown says humans are wired for connection, and we do best when we support each other through life challenges. We are not meant to figure it all out on our own. The “self-help” part of my equine therapy lies strictly in taking that first step to engage in your supportive community. I can honestly say that I need it! Do you? Lets do it together!
Thursday May 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm
Cost $120 (inquire with your FSCD worker if you can get some of it covered)
Equinisity Sessions starting May 2021
Exhale. Release. Recharge.
EQUINISITY is the practice of connecting with the self through mindful and soulful experiences with horses on the ground. It is a self-directed centering method where one attempts to find calm and clarity through passive interactions with horses. Horses help by inviting us to self-regulate with them so we can be still enough to attempt to enter a meditative state. It is an exceptionally powerful way to learn how to manage stress, emotions, and unhelpful thoughts.
For those of you know something about energy work, Equinisity sessions are believed to offer a certain healing component to it’s practice as it is thought that horses are often called upon to help clear our energy centres (chakras) through their powerful ability to detect unbalances and emit grounding vibrations from the Earth.
Sessions are designed to help you look inward and review what you might be currently living, followed by suggestions from your facilitator on how to best go about utilizing your session. Sessions are often done in silence and stillness with a horse in close intimate contact, however, there are also opportunities for semi-structured activities depending on your goals. This will all be discussed with you prior to your session over the intake phone call.
Come experience it for yourself! If nothing else, it’s a nice way to get a break and soak up some sunshine in the company of the most beautiful animal in the world!
Cost: $19 per 1 hour session, or $99 for a Spring/Summer pass

Are you struggling to partner-up your child with special needs with compatible friends? Are you trying to expand your child’s social network? Do you find yourself drained by being the main person who initiates and organizes the get-togethers, with less reciprocity from other parents? Then join the friends round-up for children with special needs! It’s free!
This is not an equine-related service. Marianne is simply trying to facilitate friendships for our children in the Calgary area! All ages, genders, and diagnoses/profiles welcome!
Marianne is offering to start a list of children with special needs looking for friends. She will collect all the profiles and try to match children and hook-up parents when a potential match is made. Parents will be responsible for following through on their own end.
If you are interested, email Marianne directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will then be sent the terms of agreement for participating, and a questionnaire to fill out and email back to Marianne.
